Reduce parts selection errors by scanning barcodes with this intelligent device. The ERP1 will make part matching decisions instantly on the plant floor where and when the part is being selected. This product runs US Automation Inc. EP1 error proofing software which is custom designed for Automotive suppliers and Manufacturers.

Based on the symbol SPT 1700 family barcode scanner with integrated Palm Computing device. Application software sets up and configures to your application by detecting your barcode system. This unit works with one dimensional (1D) barcode applications. For two dimensional barcode applications (2D) see the EP1-2D.

Software Features

  • Performs correct parts match checking.
  • Job Sequence number tracking and checking.
  • Work Tracking. Totalizing counters of parts read correctly and incorrectly are kept so that management can verify that jobs are being performed correctly. If job sequence numbers are used then history databases can be kept with the results of each scan.
  • Alert Messages. Allows alerts to be given to operators on specific part numbers which need extra attention.

As barcodes are read, the Palm Computing device will make instantaneous decisions on the plant floor during the parts selection process. Easy set up and configuration, just scan the 2 barcodes that are going to be used for parts matching, and the Palm computing device builds a rule set for parts matching, that automatically matches barcodes correctly when subsequent parts of those type are scanned.

The scan engine in the SPT 1700 family is the SE 900 from Symbol Technologies. This state-of-the-art scan engine, the smallest, lightest and brightest available today delivers premium performance even at ranges of up to 30 in./76.2 cm.
Tackle Tough Environments

Tough enough for use in manufacturing and industrial environments, the ruggedized housing withstands drops of up to 4 ft./ 1.2 m to concrete. Tested to IP54 standards for protection against rain and dust, these computers can be used outdoors on loading docks and yards and, because they use a 650 nm laser diode, you will still see the scan beam–even in bright sunlight!

A high-contrast, anti-reflective liquid crystal display makes data easy to read in low light or outdoors. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery and optional cradle configurations assure flexible convenience and strong performance no matter how intensive the task.
